This song was inspired by the letter to the Church at Ephesus in the Bible's Book of Revelations. The letter talks about people who over time lost their first love for God. I was looking back at my life when I first became a Christian in the 80's compared to my life at the time of the writing of the song in the 90's. Growing up in rural Lousiana and raised by a single parent created the backdrop for the song. This song was a song of re-dedication to Christ and the zeal of my earlier days as a Christian.
