"I Never Want to Say Goodbye" was written for the lovely residents at Serenity Home in Middleboro, MA. For two years at the facility I worked as an activity director and entertained the elderly with music, crafts and trips to the mall. I enjoyed giving the elderly the opportunity to share their stories and reminisce in a surrounding where they knew it was safe. When it was time for me to leave, I knew in my heart it wasn’t going to be easy. Contemplating on what I should do next resulted in writing this song to help ease the pain for the both of us. To keep the door open, a “see you later” replaced a “goodbye” leaving nothing but a smile in our hearts today for me and the folks at Serenity. “To be young at heart is to have a heart to be young.”
